Humidity Friendly Makeup.

Hello make-up geeks.

Recently, after having spent the entire day in the muggy stillness of my city, I arrived home looking a like a shiny pizza despite having such dry skin. Its Delhi's way of telling us that make up practices need sweat, shine and oil proofing.

Two of my favorite things that could help this cause are the Makeup Forever HD Primer before applying any makeup and Oil Absorbing Sheets thrown in your bag.

That would have to be my holy grail primer. It preps the skin in the most beautiful way possible. Takes care of the dry patches, fills in pits, controls oil production and mattifies the skin. Just a tiny amount worked onto the entire face and there you have it, a flawless canvas on which foundation or tinted moisturizer will glide on much smoother and hold up much better in the mugginess without becoming cakey or settling into fine lines.

For oily skin, this is a great product to wear just on its own without any more makeup on top. It will just make your skin naturally flawless and control the oily appearance.

Now you go through your usual makeup routine and decide to be out and about while you and your skin breathe in water (quite literally). While on the move, facial blotting papers are going to be your best friend in this weather. They help soak up the layer of oil between your skin and makeup without taking away anything from your makeup. You'll find your make up looking fresh almost instantly. This is obviously better than powdering your face every now and then because powdering over and over again leads to so much product build up on the skin and then there is your own sebum which mixes up with it to make you look like a PANCAKE!

Thats what my blotting paper picked up from just around my nose and may I remind you that I have very dry skin. Sorry for the ICKiness. :p

Now, its not like you want to shine and compete with the sun but then a totally matte dimensionless face is also not attractive. You DO want the high points of your face to have a dewy glow. The best way to glow in this weather are powder highlights like the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks or the MAC mineralized skin finish powders. Say bye-bye to the cream highlights or the liquid illuminators for the time being.  Dabbing a powder a few shades lighter than your skin on your can also work as a more natural looking highlight.

Use a fan brush to dust off a highlighting powder to the high points of your cheeks, bridge of the nose, and cupids bow of your lip.

Here's hoping that this post will help you shine just the right amount and in the right place.

Good luck.
