Makeup Artists' Tricks for Long Lasting Red Lips.

Hello Beauties.

Even though Red Lips are considered to be the Little Black Dress of Makeup, they are still a pretty daring choice for some.
If you do decide to rock the red lip, make it perfect and long lasting so that it doesn't bleed or need touch ups. Remember a creamy formula could slide everywhere and make you look like a murder victim (:p). Try to work with a matte texture and layer it well.

My latest tutorial describes a few tips and products that could help you correctly apply and hold up a strong lip color, be it red or any other.

For starters, I need a perfectly smooth and hydrated surface to to work on which is why I saturate my lips with my favorite ointment called Luca's Pawpaw. Unfortunately, available only in Australia, it is made of fermented papayas and is by far the best balm I have ever come across.
I gently exfoliate my lips with a baby toothbrush to get rid of all the flaky dryness and the excess ointment.

Lining them is so essential to get the perfect shape. With a pop color like red, It gets a little cumbersome to achieve the perfect shape straight from the bullet. A pencil gives you much better control on tweaking the shape as well.

MAC's Ruby Woo is the perfect cool toned matte texture. It does not budge and the blue undertone makes your teeth look whiter. Other warm undertones could bring out the yellow in your teeth.

Kryolan's Lip Fix is a pretty strong chemical that may not be such a good idea for daily use. It driees your lips out a little bit. However, it does not hurt on a few special occasions. It has a tendency to sting if applied directly to the lips which is why I always mix it with the color and then put it on.

Powdering the lips with a translucent powder does not change the way the color looks. It just helps mattify and prevents it from feathering.

Hope you've enjoyed the video and found it useful.

I would love to see your questions, comments and suggestions on the same.

Much Love.

Tejasvini. :)
